Hazard

The electrical wiring connected to the headlight operation switch has minimal slack in its routing length. Some wiring was routed too tightly during installation. When the headlight changeover switch is operated, the terminal connection cannot follow the movement, causing the contact resistance to increase and the terminal to generate heat. This can melt the connector, and in the worst case, the low beam may fail to illuminate.

Remedy

For all vehicles, replace only the low beam terminal with longer wiring and secure it with cable ties. For any connectors that have melted, replace both the headlight operation switch and the connector with new parts.
