The DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) computer control program for automatic PM (particulate matter) removal is defective, preventing proper PM removal from the DPF. Excessive PM accumulation can cause the automatic regeneration function to activate abnormally, resulting in excessive DPF temperature rise, exhaust temperature sensor damage, and engine warning light illumination. Affix a caution label on the sun visor with engine oil inspection procedures, change engine oil to the correct level, and replace the caution label on the DPF with updated regeneration procedures. Provide updated owner's manual with supplemental information on DPF lamp procedures and scheduled maintenance.
