大型トラック用エンジンにおいて、ターボチャージャのタービンインペラの二次共振時の最大応力部に微小空孔が存在した場合に、微小空孔を起点とした疲労破壊によりタービンインペラが破損して異音、白煙排出、出力不足等が発生し、エンジン警告灯が点灯することがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ターボチャージャに異常振動が発生し、ターボチャージャ給油パイプが疲労により亀裂してオイルが漏れ、高温部に付着して火災に至るおそれがある。
