Hazard

In the integrated brake unit, improper manufacturing control has resulted in foreign matter adhering to the motor sensor circuit board. Additionally, insufficient design review of contact pin length causes noise generation due to contact pressure between the motor sensor circuit board and contacts. This leads to electrical contact failure, illuminating the brake warning light and displaying check control messages. Continued driving may result in fallback mode, requiring greater brake pedal force than normal during braking operation, and potentially preventing engine start on the next ignition attempt.

統合ブレーキユニットにおいて、製造管理が不適切なため、モーターセンサーの回路基板に異物が付着したものがある。また、コンタクトピン長さの設計検討が不十分なため、モーターセンサーの回路基板との接触圧によりノイズが発生する。そのため、電気的接触不良が発生し、ブレーキ警告灯の点灯およびチェックコントロールメッセージが表示される。そのまま走行を続けると、フォールバックモードとなることによりブレーキ操作時に通常よりも強い踏力が必要になり、次回にエンジンの始動ができなくなるおそれがある。

Remedy

For all vehicles, verify the presence of integrated brake system monitoring function; if absent, update the program. When risk of fallback mode due to this defect is detected, replace the integrated brake unit with a good unit. Additionally, add explanation regarding the monitoring function to the owner's manual for all vehicles.
